Happy All Saints Day! One of my favorite academic activities takes place today as our 2nd graders are presenting their Saints Wax Museum to the school. Each student had written and recites a narrative about their chosen saint, which they also have dressed up to resemble. Yesterday was a fun day for everyone at St. Jude as we held our parade of costumes and students had Halloween parties in their classrooms and around the school. Thank you to all of parents and family members that came in to make Halloween a special day for the students!
As the weather is getting colder, please make sure that you are sending your student to school with appropriate clothing. We will not consider staying inside for recess because of the cold until the wind chill gets below 10℉. Please make sure they have something to wear so they can go outside comfortably. Layers are always useful as they can be removed if a student gets warm. Also, we ask that your student’s name is on everything that belongs to them in case it gets lost or forgotten. In the event of weather causing our school to close or start late, please visit www.emergencyclosing.com.
Thank you to all of the Parents that have volunteered to serve as room parents this year. These parents will be someone you can contact throughout this year when you have questions about what is going on in your student’s class in regards to things like class parties. These parents will also be serving on the Parent Board, which meets once a month. A special thank you to Sarah Tafoya for agreeing to be the Parent Board President this year. Parent Board meetings are open to anyone that is the guardian of one of our students, come and join us. Here are the room parents/members of the Parent Board for 2018-2019:
