Our football and volleyball teams have begun their seasons, their schedules are attached to this newsletter. Thank you to our coaches for leading our teams in a positive way. GO FLYERS!! Today you should be receiving the Mandatory Raffle Tickets in the Brown family envelope. If you don’t receive your Raffle tickets, call the office. ITBS testing starts next week, please be sure your students are ready, see the more detailed notes below.

ITBS Testing & CogAT Testing: September 17- October 1st

On Monday, September 17th, we will begin the IOWA Test of Basic Skills (ITBS) in grades 3-8 and the Cognitive Abilities Test (CogAT) in grades 3, 5, and 7. These tests will be given to students in the morning starting in the 8:00-hour and will usually be finished in the 10:00-hour. The schedule varies depending on the tests given each day. The majority of students will be finished with testing by the end of next week and the students that need to make up tests finishing the week after.

What can you do to help with this process? Please make sure your student has a healthy breakfast each day, arrives to school on time, and encourage them to do their best. These tests are a great source of data for us as instructors and they give the student a barometer of where they stand compared to their peers across the country. They are a useful tool in assessing where students stand in relationship to their learning goals. Thank you in advance for all you do to ensure your student’s success on these assessments.
